Lot Description:
Up for auction is an extraordinary piece of Piedmontese winemaking history: a monumental bottle from a Quarto di Brenta (equal to 12.5 liters) of Nebbiolo d'Alba from the 1979 vintage, produced by the historic Azienda Vinicola Roche of Alba (founded in 1971).
This lot represents an absolute rarity for two exceptional reasons:
1. Limited Edition: The bottle belongs to an exclusive run, bearing on the label the inscription "Serie numerata per collezionisti n. 32" (Numbered series for collectors No. 32).
2. Superb Preservation State: The liquid level is outstandingly at the neck (Into Neck / High Fill), an incredible and extremely rare condition for a wine over 45 years old. The capsule is perfectly intact, sealed, and shows no signs of historical leakage.
The bottle has been continuously stored in a private underground cellar, shielded from light, at a constant and controlled temperature and humidity. An unmissable elite piece for collectors of historic large formats and lovers of great Piedmontese red wines.
