AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Still Presence is an original oil painting on canvas, measuring 24 × 30 cm.
The portrait explores presence through a restrained composition in which almost every narrative element has been removed. The neutral background, frontal pose and dark clothing concentrate attention entirely on the face.
Rather than capturing a specific action or moment, the painting focuses on stillness. The expression remains deliberately open, allowing the viewer to search for meaning without being given a predefined story.
Particular attention is given to the eyes, skin tones and subtle variations of light across the face. These carefully rendered areas contrast with the looser treatment of the hair, where individual lines and traces of the painting process remain visible.
The result is an intimate contemporary portrait in which the identity of the subject is less important than the experience of looking — and being looked at.
