Description from the seller

Superb and antique advertising chromo offered by the House “La Botte Chantilly” Delécaux Lefèbre in Lille, a historic shoemaker establishment founded in 1890, still in existence today. This chromo depicts a girl surrounded by her Jack Russell dogs and her cat. It is signed Arthur J. Elsley and dated 1908. At the bottom of the poster, below the drawing, the margin has taken on moisture, but it does not stain the drawing. The artwork is in superb condition, with no stains or tears. Ideal for Art Nouveau decor for a child’s bedroom, a study/office, an estaminet, or a showroom. -------- Arthur John Elsley (1860–1952) was an English painter of the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods, famous for his idyllic genre scenes depicting children playing with their pets. He enjoyed wide popularity in his lifetime, and a large part of his work appeared in calendars, magazines and books.
