Description from the seller
The painter is very careful in giving a naturalistic depiction of the landscape; he has a decisive technique that enables him to faithfully imitate what is before him on the canvas. The atmosphere, the quality of the air and the humidity that comes from the water are portrayed perfectly. The depicted objects merge subtly with the surrounding space thanks to a very refined nuanced technique. Light falls across the entire scene and the artist is able to distribute the light so that space and depth emerge. Also from a compositional point of view the work is very balanced.
Notes about the artist:
Painter Mario Galanti was born in Naples in 1923. Painter of seascapes in the tradition of the Posillipo school. His style is based on a reinterpretation of the classical 19th-century Neapolitan landscape, filtered through a more dreamy vision. The unparalleled sunsets over the Gulf of Naples are the strong point of Mario Galanti's paintings, with small changes of perspective. The painter studied this theme with continual refinement and achieved a significant pictorial effect. Inspiration for his works comes from moonlight on the sea, twilight, sunsets and sunrises, but also from fishermen returning after a day’s work.
