Case

The Flagship line belongs to Longines’ classic dress watch collections. This L4.799.3 has a round case of circa 35.5–36 mm, giving the watch a traditional and relatively understated size.

The case is finished in polished stainless steel and paired with a gold-colored bezel. The stepped shape of the bezel gives the watch a distinctly classic look and harmonizes with the gold-colored parts of the bracelet.

In the supplied photos there are clear signs of wear, mainly on the gold-colored bezel. It shows scattered superficial scratches and small signs of wear. The polished stainless steel parts of the case also show light scratches consistent with normal wear.

The case shape and lugs appear well preserved and there are no large dents or heavy damage visible.

Dial

The champagne-colored dial is a striking feature of this specimen. The surface has a fine radial sunburst finish, causing the color to vary from light champagne to a warmer gold depending on lighting.

Below 12 o’clock is the LONGINES inscription and the well-known winged hourglass logo. Above 6 o’clock is AUTOMATIC.

The hour positions are marked with diamond indices in small square settings. At 12 o’clock there is a double diamond index, while the other hour positions – with the exception of the day/date window position – have individual diamond indices.

The gold-colored hour and minute hands have a slender, classic form. A very thin central second hand completes the time display.

At 3 o’clock is a combined day and date window. In the supplied photos, TUE 24 is shown.

At the bottom of the dial is SWISS.

The dial itself appears very neat in the photos. There are no conspicuous stains, heavy discoloration, or damage visible.

The automatic movement is visible through the transparent case back. On the rotor the markings L636.5 and Longines are clearly visible.
The ETA 2836-2 forms the base of this Longines calibre and is an automatic movement with central seconds and combined day-and-date function.
The gold-colored rotor provides a nice visual contrast with the other silver-colored parts of the movement.
No timegrapher measurement is provided. The exact timekeeping deviation, amplitude, and beat error cannot be determined from the photos.

Day- and date display

The watch features both a day and a date display.
Both functions are combined in one elongated window at 3 o’clock. The day indicator is on the left and the date on the right. In the photos the display shows TUE 24.

This configuration is characteristic of the used L636.5 calibre and gives the watch, in addition to its classic look, a practical daily function.

Diamond dial

This specimen is equipped with diamond hour markers instead of the more common baton indices.
The diamonds are individually set in small square metal settings. The 12 o’clock position is recognizable by a double diamond setting.
Combined with the champagne sunburst dial and gold-colored details, this gives the Flagship a more luxurious look than standard versions with simple index markers.

Back

The case back features a large transparent viewing window, allowing the automatic movement to be seen.
The rotor bears the Longines signature and the caliber designation L636.5. Around the viewing window is a polished metal ring with engravings.
In the photos there are light superficial signs of wear on the stainless steel parts of the back. The transparent section looks clear enough to view the movement well.

Crown

The crown is made of stainless steel and has a ribbed outer edge for grip when setting the time, day, and date.
On the outside LONGINES is engraved.
The crown shows light signs of wear in the detail photo but otherwise looks tidy and fitting for the watch.

Band

The watch comes with the original bi-colour Longines metal bracelet.
The bracelet consists of several narrow links in which polished stainless steel is combined with gold-colored center links. This keeps the two-tone design of case and bezel consistent across the entire bracelet.
The bracelet features an original integrated Longines butterfly/clasp. Both LONGINES and the winged hourglass logo are clearly present on the clasp.
On the polished steel and gold-colored links there are normal superficial signs of wear and scratches. In particular the gold-colored links show more noticeable wear in some places.
Based on the supplied size photo, the current band appears suitable for a wrist circumference of about 18.5–19 cm.

General condition
A classic Longines Flagship Automatic Day-Date in a more luxurious bi-colour version with champagne sunburst dial and diamond hour markers.
With a case diameter of approximately 35.5–36 mm, the watch has the traditional size typical of classic Longines dress watches. The combination of polished stainless steel, gold-colored accents, diamond indices, and the champagne dial gives the watch a distinctly elegant appearance.
Cosmetically, this piece, based on the supplied photos, is in neat used condition. Normal wear is present, with especially the gold-colored bezel and some gold-colored links showing more pronounced superficial scratches. The dial, diamond indices, and the glass, however, appear very well cared for.
The automatic Longines L636.5 calibre is visible through the transparent case back and offers the practical day- and date function in addition to the normal time display.
