The Côte-Rôtie Les Côtes 2023 from the Julien Barge estate has an intense garnet color with purple highlights. The nose reveals aromas of ripe black fruits, violets, and spicy notes. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with elegant tannins and beautiful intensity. The finish is long and refined with floral and spicy notes.
Winegrowers from father to son in Ampuis since 1860, the Barge family runs a renowned family estate. Their wine-growing heritage is centered around three flagship appellations: Côte-Rôtie (5.70 ha), Saint-Joseph (1.50 ha), and Condrieu (1 ha). Historical expertise at the service of the great Rhône terroirs.
Terroir: Côte Brune, Côte Blonde, and Combard
Blend: 95% Syrah, 5% Viognier
Aging: 28 months in 600-liter demi-muids
Aging potential: Best enjoyed through 2039
