Icon - Bruno Bertoldini - Glass - Madonna with Child

Madonna with Child signed Bruber, pseudonym of the glass master and Venetian artist Bruno Bertoldini (born 1931), known for his artistic works on Murano glass, mirrors and panels incised with gold inserts and enamels. The cursive inscription on a golden background reproduces the typical signature used by the artist to authenticate his relief works or on a plaque. The work has a material or decorative treatment in an antiqued style, linked to Murano production of the twentieth century.
The complete work shows a splendid Madonna and Child inserted in an arched niche with a pointed arch, finely chevroned and enriched by strong fields of cobalt blue enamel and gold leaf applications.
To embellish the piece, the presence of the original frame, velvet/wood frame contemporaneous with the era.
