François Salignac de La Mothe Fénelon, The Adventures of Telemachus, Son of Ulysses. Volume 1, 2, 3, and 4.
From the printing house of P. Didot l'Aîné, Paris, Year IV of the Republic (1796).
Magnificent period binding in full red morocco, smooth spine richly adorned with gold tooling: stars, fillets, and fleurons, boards framed by a beautiful gold-ruled border with foliate motifs. All edges gilt.
New complete edition in 4 volumes, adorned with a portrait of the author as a frontispiece and fine plates hors-texte illustrating the epic. A meticulously produced edition from the famous presses of Pierre Didot l'Aîné.
Condition: Very fine copy, period bindings extremely decorative and in good state of preservation. See photos for details.
