A particularly large and rare example of the Atomium, dating from 1958. So not a replica from a later date. It was only sold between April 1958 and October 1958.
A striking vintage sculpture of the Brussels Atomium, made to commemorate the 1958 World Expo. With a height of no less than 23 cm, this is an exceptionally large size. Most specimens encountered are about 13 cm high, which makes this size considerably rarer.
The Atomium is rendered in nickel/metal and, due to its age, has a beautiful vintage appearance. The metal shows light oxidation/discoloration, in keeping with the age of the object. This is clearly visible in the photos and is part of the authentic patina of a piece almost 70 years old.
