Auction Description – Ardbeg Still Young 1998, 2nd Release

Ardbeg Still Young – Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A highly collectible bottle of Ardbeg Still Young, the second release in Ardbeg’s early “Path to Maturity” series.

This limited-edition Islay Single Malt was distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2006, representing approximately eight years of maturation. The bottle is presented in its original black and gold presentation box, featuring the “Very Young – Still Young – Almost There” progression and the 1998–2008 Path to Maturity concept.

The front label describes the whisky as:

“Ardbeg Still Young – Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky”

and confirms:

Distilled 1998 – 2nd Release Bottled 2006

The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at a substantial 56.2% ABV, in a 70 cl bottle. The bottle and packaging correspond to the well-documented 2006 second release of Ardbeg Still Young.

The rear label explains the “Path to Maturity 1998–2008”, referring to Ardbeg’s reopening in 1997 and the successive releases leading towards the mature expression. It specifically describes Still Young, bottled in 2006, as another step along this maturation journey.
