Research in the main historical-art databases does not presently provide precise birth dates for the artist; however, the style and materials place the works in the context of 20th-century Hungarian painting.

The works, created in the classic round format, stand out for a fresh and immediate stylistic approach. "Leányfej" depicts a young woman with an elaborately dark headdress with defined volumes, while "Arc" focuses on a female face with lighter, more nuanced chromatics. The technique reveals excellent mastery of watercolor, cleverly exploiting the porosity of the paper to create contrasts and glazes.

The paintings retain on the back the original labels from the "Budapesti Képzőművészeti Kft." (Budapest Fine Arts Society), a fundamental institution for distributing art in Hungary during the 20th century.

The labels certify provenance for commercial purposes, listing the artist’s name, original titles, inventory numbers (11 and 12), and the original sale price (4000 forints).

If the visible frame in the photo is included in the lot, it is offered as a pure gift by me and is not part of the sale; it does not determine the value, and due to its delicacy is not covered by insurance. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported and any damage to it during transport will not be considered for claims or returns. The mounting system on the wall could also be removed. Glass often breaks during transport and can damage the work. They can be removed upon request without additional cost. Please inform me if you prefer the work to be shipped without it; otherwise I cannot assume responsibility.

Notes on shipping and customs
-The item ships from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to EU countries might be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs clearance procedures.

In case of return of the package due to an incorrect address, unclaimed package or duties unpaid, the buyer will bear the cost of a second shipment and the return shipping.

I remind you also that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT and customs charges are entirely borne by the buyer and will be collected by authorities in your country upon delivery. I recommend informing yourself in advance to avoid surprises. As an alternative to shipping, if you have the option, personal pickup in Geneva is always my preferred and strongly recommended option, as it eliminates shipping costs and guarantees maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to package the painting to protect it during transit."
