Description from the seller
Rural landscape with cart and horses – Oil on canvas with frame
Oil painting on canvas depicting a scene of countryside life: a farmer guides a cart drawn by two horses along an unpaved road beside a farm, with animals grazing in the background.
The composition, of naturalist taste, features a wide sky crossed by clouds and a palette of greens, blues and earthy tones. The rural architectures and the setting recall landscapes of Northern Europe.
Author: not identified; signature present at bottom right, undeciphered.
Period: not established; by stylistic characteristics, hypothetically between the late nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century.
Technique: oil on canvas.
Overall dimensions, including frame: 138 × 99 cm.
Frame: gold-finished, included in the sale.
There are some wavinesses of the canvas visible. Photos of the front, back and signature are an integral part of the description. The work is offered without attribution to a specific artist.
