"L'Objectif d'Or" takes place in an open field of wild flowers at the very end of a summer day, when the horizon dissolves into pale gold and the sun sits low behind the figure. A red-haired woman stands alone among the stems, a wide-brimmed straw hat with a faded red ribbon shading her brow, a vintage film camera raised to her eye. The lens covers most of her face. Only one green eye and the trace of a quiet smile remain visible, and her gaze is fixed on something far beyond the frame.

Her bare skin takes the warmth of the light like sun-heated stone, while the flowers in the foreground dissolve into soft points of amber and cream. Loose curls of copper hair catch the backlight and glow at the edges. She is not posing for anyone. She is the one who looks, measuring the scene and waiting for the exact second when the light will be right.

The title plays on a double meaning: the objective of the camera and the golden objective of the moment itself. The composition places the viewer on the other side of the frame, watching someone who is watching the world.

The artwork explores themes such as the act of looking, the relationship between observer and observed, patience, solitude in nature and the fleeting quality of golden light.
