Le Yack, Chambre avec vue sur rien – Hand-signed, 40 × 60 cm, mixed media on digital print, edition of 20, 2023, France.
Description from the seller
A motel room, somewhere in the West. The morning comes in through the large window and casts a triangle of sunlight on the blue wall. Seated at the edge of the bed in a satin jumpsuit, she looks outside: an empty parking lot, purple mountains. The suitcase is open, stockings thrown on the chair.
She has arrived, or she is about to leave. The painting does not decide, and that is what makes it so fascinating: an entire novel is contained in that gaze toward the road.
Sharp light, deep colors, total silence: a revisited classic of American realism.
A work of silence and space, designed to calm an entire room.
