Kézdi Kovács László, Nel bosco, oil on canvas 80 x 100 cm, 1907, Hungary, a landscape painting signed by hand.
Description from the seller
Kézdi Kovács László (Pusztaalsócikola, 1864 – Budapest, 1942), In the Forest, oil on canvas, 80 × 100 cm; signed and dated (1907) lower right.
The subject is animated by a figure seated at the edge of a body of water in the forest, characterized by autumn colors.
The painting is in good condition and no conservation issues are evident.
The photographs are an integral part of the description (each screen renders colors differently, so despite careful shooting, the real colors may differ slightly).
Kézdi Kovács László was a painter and art writer, an active figure in the Hungarian artistic environment of his time.
He began painting under the guidance of Antal Ligeti and from 1886 he participated in exhibitions with naturalistic landscapes, which make up the bulk of his painting output, where he showed great skill in painting forest scenes, as clearly demonstrated by the painting offered here.
Another work on the same subject is conserved at the International Gallery of Modern Art at Ca’ Pesaro in Venice.
Other works are housed in the National Gallery of Hungarian Art.
Careful packaging, trackable shipping.
Costs and shipping times may be higher due to export procedures and/or locations not normally reached by shipping services (especially outside the EU).
