Antique sterling silver sewing set in its original oval leather case from Birmingham, England, circa 1900, including large and small scissors, a solid silver thimble (hallmarked .925, Birmingham, HC&S/HG&S), an ornate silver-handled awl, and a screw-cap needle case, all in fair condition with wear compatible with age.

Antique Sterling Silver Sewing Set / Nécessaire de Couture in Original Case - Birmingham, England - ca. 1900
Exquisite and complete antique sewing set / Nécessaire de Couture in its original fitted leather case.
Dating back to the late Victorian / early Edwardian era (circa 1890–1910), this fine sewing set is well-preserved and complete. Presented in its original oval leather-covered presentation box with luxurious damask silk and velvet lining.
Contents of the set:
Large Sewing Scissors: Beautifully detailed handles with acanthus and rococo scrollwork, steel cutting blades. ((Robuso Solingen Germany)
Small Embroidery Scissors: Delicate, ornate handles.
Solid Sterling Silver Thimble: Fully hallmarked with English marks: Lion Passant (.925 sterling), Birmingham Anchor, maker's mark (HC&S/HG&S), and date letter.
Awl / Stiletto: Ornate silver-handled stiletto with steel point. (silver marked)
Needle Case: Chased body with screw-on cap, complete with antique sewing needles. (unmarked)
Original Oval Presentation Case: Covered in cognac-brown leather with functioning brass push-button clasp. Lined with patterned cream silk in the lid and fitted velvet base.
Condition:
In good, authentic antique condition with wear consistent with age (over 110 years old):
Handles / tools: There are small, visible dings/dents on the hollow handles of the stiletto (awl) and the needle case.
Thimble: Shows a small minor dent, but remains solid with clearly legible hallmarks.
Scissors & function: Both pairs of scissors open and close smoothly.
Presentation box: Closes properly; the exterior leather shows authentic surface patina/wear and the interior fabric has slight age-related discolouration.
