Description from the seller

A remarkable advertising poster dating from around 1950 by Gino Boccasile (drawn in the plate at the bottom right 'boccasile') for the Panettone cake of the Zapparoli & Bagattini brand. This typical Italian pastry, which is mainly sold during the holiday season, is a delicious treat available in several varieties. Zapparoli prides itself on delivering 'the best of Milan', filled with candied fruit. A piece of Panettone you should definitely try, but in moderation: it is a hearty treat due to the high egg content that forms part of the batter base.
Condition A: Completely intact, fresh colors. Professionally mounted on a linen backing ('linen backed')
Shipping: rolled in a sturdy tube with track & trace.

'Gino Boccasile (1901-1952) Born in Bari Italy in 1901. He moved to Milan in 1925 at the age of 24 and worked at the Mauzan-Morzenti Agency as a student of the famous poster artist Achille Mauzan.
Under the Mussolini-regime, Boccasile created several visually startling posters. After the war, Boccasile set up his own agency where he was quite prolific. Both he and his students were very sought after, working for Night Club acts, travel and products: Lama Bolzano, Talco Paglieri, Olio Radino and many others... It i said that the woman's face in many of Boccasile's vintage posters is that of his wife.

Since 1919, Panettone cakes have been a favorite Italian tradition during the holidays. A wonderful treat which is perfect as a gift or sharing with friends and family. This brand of Panettone was made by the Zapparolli bakery of Milan: note the famed Duomo cathedral in the background.
