History & Secrets of the Symbol:

Saint Benedict and the Exorcism Medal
Officialized by Pope Benedict XIV in 1742, the Saint Benedict Medal is the Church’s great sacramental of deliverance. It is traditionally worn to drive out demons, break curses, and protect the person against any malevolent influence.

The Motto PAX: The Triumph of Divine Peace
Engraved at the top of the medal, the word PAX means “Peace.” It recalls the victory of divine peace over chaos, with the power to soothe fears, drive away spirits of discord, and establish a protective calm around the wearer.

Vade Retro Satana: The Secret of the Inscribed Letters
Each letter inscribed on the medal forms a command prayer:
C S P B: Cross of the Holy Father Benedict.
C S S M L - N D S M D: May the Holy Cross be my light, may the demon not be my guide.
V R S N S M V - S M Q L I V B: Begone, Satan, never tempt me: what you offer is evil, drink your own poisons.

The Obsidian: The Shielding Stone
Of deep and pure black, obsidian is the most renowned defensive stone for absorbing negative energies and blocking hostility. It provides a solid strength that reinforces the protective power of the Saint Benedict Medal.
