AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Valdemi del Mare, Alve (Cremona, Italy 1885 - Barcelona 1972).
Formed in Bergamo, Milan and Rome. In 1926, he obtained the gold medal from the Ministry of Fine Arts and settled in Barcelona. He took part in competitions and group exhibitions. Individually, he usually exhibited at Sala Gaspar. He mainly cultivated floral themes and portraits, also practicing landscape and still life. What characterizes his painting is the brilliance of color and the skill of his brushstrokes with the spatula, and already in the Barcelona period, adapting his palette to Mediterranean brightness, he revealed his roots in the local landscape tradition, receiving the heritage of the great Catalan painters, he showed a tangible affinity in the immediacy, spontaneity and freshness of diction in all his works. He traveled through Navarra and the Basque Country, where he had the opportunity to capture light and color, with the vastness of towns and corners of the whole region. He always had favorable criticism and his solo exhibitions always enjoyed notable success, thus his work is distributed among innumerable collectors and followers across practically the entire national territory. After his death, Sala Jaimes in 1974 and Galería Meifrén in 1976 organized separate anthological exhibitions of his works.
Work in very good condition, with much pictorial quality, he belonged to a family of Catalan origin settled in the south of Spain for decades, it is shipped perfectly packed by an international company, the measurements of the work alone without frame are 65x55
