Marinus Heijl (1836-1931 ) - Visser in struiken.

Heijl initially seemed destined for the priesthood, but ultimately chose painting. He studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and was a pupil of Hendrik Dirk Kruseman van Elten. Within that institution he would later serve on the board for many years. He had a studio in Amsterdam and taught young painters there, such as Geo Poggenbeek and Nicolaas Bastert. He regularly collaborated with Anton Mauve. After 1880 he made several trips to Germany (Harz Mountains, Teutoburg Forest) and Switzerland.
