Description from the seller
This is a splendid black-and-white photograph by the famous Estonian/Parisian photographer Ina Bandy, depicting a couple outside a typical Paris bar, probably the renowned Cabaret du Père-Lunette, dating from around 1955. Ina Bandy, born in Estonia in 1903, at the time part of the Russian Empire, was one of the most famous photojournalists working in Paris since the 1930s, when she was hired by Alliance Photo, and her fame soon reached great heights; she was also well known because her Atelier was actually on the ground floor of the famous Hôtel de la Paix... Born in 1903 in Tallinn, she lived almost all her life in France, where she passed away in 1973, in Vercheny, a participant, curator and photographer of the “Village d’Enfants,” where she cared for maladjusted children and those with family problems. This image, obviously beautiful, bears on the back Ina Bandy’s original stamp, as well as the agency stamp, and it measures 18x13 cm. The photograph is in good condition, with faint marks almost invisible due to age, but overall beautiful and sound. Guaranteed 100% original.
