Description from the seller
Pair of Japanese Kutani vases « Eisen » – 永泉 – XXe siècle
Beautiful pair of Japanese Kutani porcelain vases, hand-decorated in a traditional palette of cobalt blue, orange-red, black and gold.
The two vases feature a particularly elegant floral and botanical decoration, with stylized flowers and foliage on a white ground. The upper portion and the base are adorned with floral borders, blue friezes, and gilding in gold.
The shape is distinctive, with a narrow neck, a slightly swollen body, and a polygonal foot with beveled sides, giving the pieces a highly decorative silhouette.
Both vases bear on the reverse a mark in Japanese characters 「永泉」 (Eisen) accompanied by a seal. This mark is associated with Kutani porcelain productions.
