Description from the seller
Cognac-colored glass ashtray with a matching cigarette press – Bousillage at Verrerie de Scailmont, Manage (Belgium)
Magnificent antique ashtray in blown glass, handmade, in cognac/amber color, accompanied by its matching cigarette press.
This piece is attributed to the bousillage at Verrerie de Scailmont in Manage, Belgium, a famous Hainuyère glassworks known in particular for its glass production and for pieces made by glassworkers from scraps and remnants of glass.
The ashtray features an original and sculptural form, with undulating contours and a generous thickness of glass. Its cognac shade becomes particularly luminous when exposed to light.
The bottom also bears a worked decoration and a characteristic texture of molded/worked glass.
