Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with different styles, techniques and image forms. In her work, color, movement, expression and emotion play an important role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and took second place at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. In addition, she was included among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been seen and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particularly high point is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole presents together with artist Michael Lam the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together and form a joint dialogue around movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Delivery and presentation

The artwork is delivered without a frame and without a stretcher frame. You receive the canvas carefully rolled, so you can determine how you want to present the artwork.

You can, for example, have the canvas framed or have it stretched by a professional framer onto a stretcher frame.

Important when stretching: please note that for stretching the canvas, at least 5 cm of extra canvas on every side is required. This margin is necessary to fold and secure the canvas properly around the stretcher frame. Therefore, when determining the final size, account for a minimum 5 cm extra margin on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

Besides her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker.
