Two 0.75 L bottles from Marco de Bartoli Vecchio Samperi Riserva 1970 and Vecchio Samperi Solera, Marsala, Italy, in original wooden crate, with legible labels showing wear and a heavily corroded/cracked capsule.
Description from the seller
Both bottles are top-level collectible pieces, testimonies of the early years when Marco De Bartoli revolutionized the concept of Marsala.
• Left bottle: dark label with three stars, listed as Riserva 1970, "Vino da Tavola", 16% Vol., bottle number 2365. The 3 stars on the historic Vecchio Samperi label indicate the aging level and the superior quality classification. The 3 stars were exclusively reserved for the most precious lots destined for very long aging, comparable to a true flagship Reserve.
• Right bottle: Solera-style label (partially worn), historic Vecchio Samperi Solera produced always from Marco De Bartoli's winery.
The photos are quite detailed and show defects and aging wear, including a heavily worn label on the right bottle (Samperi Solera).
The wine still sits under the neck, which is a very positive sign.
Happy bidding.
