Description from the seller
Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with different styles, techniques and forms of imagery. In her work, colour, movement, expression and emotion play an important role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.
Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.
Internationally, her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in, among others, New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.
A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole collaborates with artist Michael Lam to present the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together here and form a joint dialogue around movement, colour, creativity and transformation.
Nicole Lubbers’s work is more than just a visual image. Her compositions invite reflection on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. The strong colours and dynamic visual language make her work a striking statement in both modern and classical interiors.
