"Grapes Perfume": Finely late-summer colors and violet splashes evoke grapes and their scents, the earth, and the atmosphere of the harvest. A meeting of colors and materials that evokes the intensity and vitality of nature. Textural fields and drips intertwine in a dynamic rhythm where deep blues converse with oranges and turquoises, creating a balance rich in light and energy. An abstract work that conveys warmth, movement, and personal impressions like the intense aroma of ripe grapes.
PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his personal artistic path for over twenty-five years, an evolving process. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has been exhibiting his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
Paolo Contin’s artistic trajectory is documented also by the presence in the Mondadori Art Catalog with related price quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes created for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.
He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active until the Pandemic period.
Eclectic and independent artist Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, blocks, geometric shapes, and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement, and emotion.
Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: every piece arises from the desire to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity."
