Eight-volume edition of Essai sur les mœurs et l'esprit des nations by Voltaire, in French, published in Paris by Pierre Didot l’aîné et Firmin Didot around 1804–1805, bound in uniform brown demi‑leather with gilt tooling, approximately 13.5 × 9 cm, 1800 pages in total, with wear including leather loss and staining.

Eight-volume series (Volumes I to VIII) of The Essay on the Manners and Spirit of Nations and on the principal facts of history from Charlemagne to Louis XIII, by Voltaire. Stereotype edition following the Firmin Didot process, printed in Paris at Pierre Didot the elder and Firmin Didot, circa 1804–1805.
Uniform half-bound in brown calf, spines with gold tooling, title and volume labels, covers in blue-green paper. Dimensions of one volume measured in the photograph: about 13.5 × 9 cm.
Used condition noted: rubbing, epidermures (surface wear), leather losses, headbands and corners heavily worn, spine joints weakened and small losses visible. Boards stained and soiled; papers browned with foxing, stains and signs of use.
