Description from the seller
Among the Flowers
Description
Among the flowers is an intimate and expressive portrait in which a woman emerges from an exuberant floral composition. Her direct, serene gaze contrasts with the energetic brushwork surrounding her. Orange dominates the scene and envelops the figure like a warm atmosphere, while the blue background adds depth and balance.
The flowers function as more than an ornamental element: they create a space of protection, intimacy, and sensuality around the protagonist. The visible, spontaneous brushstroke adds movement and keeps the image with a sense of a captured moment.
Contemporary Vision
The work approaches portraiture from a contemporary perspective, moving away from purely descriptive representation to build an emotional atmosphere. The figure and the flowers nearly merge on the same pictorial surface, making nature, body, and color form a single visual identity.
The contrast between blue and the intensity of the oranges makes color one of the main protagonists of the piece. The woman’s gaze, however, introduces a moment of stillness within that chromatic explosion.
