Description from the seller
Julien Bass, French nationality born in 1980
After a career in the world of fashion, communication and design, Julien sets off to travel around the world for seven years. Upon his return, he engages in a confrontation with matter, he experiments with techniques of wood, fire, earth and appropriates all media that come to hand and inspire him such as galvanized sheet metal, fabric, metal, etc. Through his creations, the artist aims to raise public awareness about environmental protection and uses exclusively recovered materials. He elevates the material and makes it desirable, he creates a dialogue with the spiritual.
The work is titled "Axono"
This sculpture explores the idea of geometric construction through a vertical sequence of interlocked wooden modules. Each segment is carved and slightly offset, creating a rhythm of tension and balance that evokes architectural axonometry. The surface carbonized, obtained by fire, reveals both the fragility and resilience of the material while highlighting the precise geometry of the form. I chose wood for its organic grain and its ability to record transformations. The work invites viewers to reflect on structure, elevation and the silent power of assembled forms.

Total weight: 25 kg
