Description from the seller
Laurent Yvon (born in 1984) - The inner pantheon (2024)
Mixed media (collage and acrylic paint)
Dimensions: 80 x 80 cm
Rich composition mixing faces, masks, animals, religious symbols and image fragments in a dense and chaotic collage. The superpositions, black drips and bursts of bright orange create strong visual tension. The whole evokes a hallucinatory inner universe, between memory, spirituality, violence and symbolic imagination.
Contemporary visual artist, Laurent Yvon develops an expressive body of work focused on human emotions. Influenced by figures such as Jean Dubuffet or Egon Schiele, his work sits within a sensibility close to outsider art (art brut) and surrealism. His intense compositions, often centered around the face and the body, convey an instinctive approach to drawing and painting, where fragmentation and hybridization of forms become the vectors of a strong emotional charge.
