AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pino Vastarella was born in Rome, where he lives and works.

Architect, designer, stylist, painter and photographer, over the years he has traversed many forms of creative expression: from building design to furnishings, from graphics to fashion, from painting to photography, from image publishing to reading performances. His path is a precise reflection of a personal history never completed and always aimed at confronting ancient memories and new experiments. It is above all the search for matter—such as stone, marbles, jute—and for materials, often derived from everyday life, that pushed him at the start to engage with an artistic form of material abstraction.

The ongoing experimentation of these years makes his material path meet figuration. Abstract forms become defined, feeding the curiosity to compare himself in a search where materials return to representations of bodies, faces, statues and especially architectures, offering a panorama of lived and torn reality.

In this work, the artist wanted to capture the majesty and the hidden interweaving of industrial structures and bridges, transporting the viewer into a dimension where the real brushes against the metaphysical, seized by a sense of vertigo. The contrast between light and shadow creates a visual rhythm that communicates strength and depth. This work is made on handmade paper.
