This oil-on-canvas painting features a frontal portrait of the renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, characterized by a fixed, introspective gaze that immediately captures the viewer's attention. The composition stands out for the fine modeling of facial features and the vibrant color palette, where warm skin tones and the intense red of the lips contrast harmoniously with a dense green background punctuated by subtle floral motifs. The arrangement of pale pink roses on her traditional hairstyle, together with the detailed work in jewelry — including elaborate earrings and layered necklaces — pays clear homage to folkloric iconography and to the reaffirmation of the cultural identity that defined the painter's visual universe.
