AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Palermo
Series: Leisure
Palermo comes from an intimate look at the Mediterranean as a sensorial experience. The scene does not aim to represent merely a place, but to evoke a way of living it: the pause, the light, the garden, the water and that slow time that belongs to the southern spaces.

The figure, seated facing the landscape, functions as a point of balance within a composition dominated by nature. The hat, the light clothing and the contemplative attitude build an image of carefree elegance, while the flowers, the palm trees and the white architecture introduce references to the Mediterranean imaginary.

Water occupies the center of the work and guides the eye toward the houses in the background. Deep greens, turquoises and touches of coral and orange create a warm, luminous, almost tactile atmosphere. The gestural brushwork keeps the painting process visible and adds a sense of spontaneity to the scene.

Within Leisure, Palermo represents the idea of momentarily belonging to a place. It is not a tourist postcard, but a memory constructed from emotion: sitting, looking at the landscape and letting the surroundings set the pace. The work speaks of light, rest, and the desire to stay, of that moment when landscape and figure seem to share the same time.
