Vintage 1978 was rated "Excellent" by the oenologists of La Rioja Alta Estate. The owners decided to vinify the best brands (890 Grva, 904 Grva) and launched some new limited-edition: Rioja Alta "Plantación 1978" Reserva Especial.
Vinified and matured in wooden vat, from the founding time of the winery (1890), and then aged in cask for 7 years. Racked 12 times, once every 6 months, using the traditional cask-to-cask Riojan method. Bottled directly from the barrel in 1987.
