Description from the seller
Human Anatomy, is a sculptureally character work of Natalia McDonald, a Spanish artist born in 1987.
The piece represents an anatomical human torso, showing in relief various internal organs. The work combines figurative representation of anatomy with an artistic treatment based on volume, texture, and color.
The anatomical body is made in majolica ceramic and subsequently worked with acrylic paint and resin, creating different levels of volume and texture and adding depth and realism to the representation.
The sculpture is presented on a circular base of acacia wood, whose brown tone and natural grain contrast with the colors of the anatomical body. The wood surface has been treated with oil to provide greater protection and improve its aesthetic finish.
The combination of ceramic, paint, resin, and natural wood generates a singular piece that unites sculptural and pictorial elements within the language of contemporary art.
