Francesco Bracciolini. The Amorous Indignation. In Venice at Gio. Battista Ciotti Senese, 1598. Rare sixteenth-century edition of the famous dramatic work by the Pistoian scholar. Written in the form of a pastoral fable and explicitly inspired by Guarini's Pastor Fido and Tasso's L'Aminta, the work narrates the adventures of two goatherds and their thwarted love. Finally, the Pastoral Rhymes. Binding in modern cardboard. Title in a gold inlay on the spine. Engraved vignette on the frontispiece. Dimensions 12 x 9 cm; 72 leaves (pagination by whole sheets). Excellent condition.
