Description from the seller

ASTRAM - History of SON GOKU -

Here the artist offers an original meeting between Japanese pop culture and the aesthetics of grand Gothic stained glass windows. Inspired by the world of Dragon Ball Z, the painting transposes several of its emblematic characters into a composition that adopts the codes of medieval stained glass.

Created in 3D printing on a 60 × 40 cm acrylic glass slab with a thickness of 3 mm, the work thus combines a contemporary technique with a visual language directly inspired by Gothic architectural heritage.

At the center of the composition appears Son Goku, recognizable by his orange outfit and determined posture. On the left, Vegeta, represented as Super Saiyan, imposes a vertical and solemn presence. His posture and concentrated expression evoke the pride, power, and rivalry that characterize the character. On the right, Trunks, with his purple hair and blue outfit, adds a third silhouette that completes the balance of the triptych.

The upper part of the stained glass welcomes a Dragon Ball, placed as a key piece in the architectural part of the glasswork.
The two medallions located in the lower part add an extra narrative dimension. Here you can find Beerus, the God of Destruction, and Master Roshi, iconic figure from the early Dragon Ball adventure.

This work thus makes Gothic medieval times, manga culture, and contemporary manufacturing technologies dialogue, transforming the heroes of Dragon Ball Z into figures of a new visual mythology.

ASTRAM, pseudonym of the pop art artist Richard Saint-Amans, produces works in which he imagines offbeat situations, inviting everyone to read according to their own imagination. His attachment to the pop years and beyond is expressed in unique and renewed creations.

Here, ASTRAM’s wink to Manga or comic book characters, Rock Stars, actors from cult films or TV series that marked the pop years and beyond, is expressed in unique and renewed creations.

His works, present in several galleries, are held by numerous collectors around the world.

The colors are here frozen in the glass of this slab, embedded and protected from light and UV, with optimal sharpness on a brightly colored acrylic glass. Beautiful depth of field, work with deep blacks and vibrant colors.

Thanks to the glossy finish, the work can express itself to the maximum from every angle.
The rear suspension is hidden and maintains a distance from the wall. In this way, the work on acrylic glass seems to float freely on the wall and gives it an art gallery style.
