Description from the seller
Title: Sleeping Light
Technique: Oil/Canvas
Size: 110cm x 90.5cm
This oil painting on canvas is built around a palette of earthy tones, deep browns and ochres, creating a warm yet mysterious atmosphere. The vertical forms stretch and become distorted, while curved lines seem to fall and move through the space, creating a sense of movement. Small accumulations of lighter tones emerge from the shadows, acting as subtle points of light within the composition.
The work explores the idea of a space that is not entirely recognizable, somewhere between the figurative and the abstract. The forms seem to appear and disappear within the darkness, leaving part of the scene open to the imagination. The contrast between the depth of the dark tones and the small areas of light creates a feeling of silence, intimacy, and a certain sense of mystery.

The vertical forms elongate and distort, while some curved lines seem to fall and move through the space, generating a sense of motion. Small accumulations of lighter matter appear among the shadows and function as points of light within the composition.
The work plays with the idea of a space that is not fully recognizable, situated between the figurative and the abstract. The forms seem to emerge and disappear within the darkness, leaving part of the scene to the imagination. The contrast between the depth of the dark tones and the small focal points of light provides a sense of silence, intimacy, and a certain mystery.
