Description
Characterful and heavy French putto hanging lamp from the Belle Époque period (c. 1890–1910). The centrally cast figure depicts a floating cherub (angel), captured within an elegant garland of twisted branches and leaves. The lamp is fitted with two downward-facing rose goblets in a warm amber-colored/flamed matte glass finish.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, complete condition and atmospheric light distribution, this is a highly sought-after and characterful object, extremely suitable for a classical interior, hallway or boudoir.

Weighing no less than 3.0 kg for its compact size, the lamp reveals a high casting quality of solid metal (bronze/brass).

Condition & Details

* Glass: In good antique condition with no visible cracks or chips. At the upper edge of the mounting points there are light chips (see detail photos). Because the glass is handcrafted, the goblets vary slightly in size and are specifically matched to their own fittings (not interchangeable).
* Fixture: In nice antique condition with an authentic patina.
* Electricity: The electrical wiring is aged and must be renewed/replaced for safe use.
* Ceiling plate: Present and original, shows old paint residues at the edges/top (see photos).
