Maritime object - tsk - Cast brass- Sleep log-vin rotator

Unique Maritime Antiquities: Authentic Brass TSK Taffrail Drag Log (Speedometer)

Are you looking for a unique and characterful object for your maritime collection, or an absolute eye-catcher for the living room, the office, or the cabin?

This beautiful piece of maritime history is now available! This instrument is an original drag log (also known as patent log or taffrail log). Before satellites and digital navigation existed, this was the instrument sailors used to measure the speed and distance traveled by their ship. The object was hauled on a long line behind the ship, with the water flow causing the brass vanes to rotate.

Very unique, especially because this is a TSK and they are very rare in Europe.

Carefully shipped.
