Two-volume first edition of The British Naturalist (1830) by Robert Mudie, in English, with woodcuts by Brooke and Bonner after drawings by Harry Willson, covering natural history, botany, animals and ornithology, in fair condition with contemporary cloth bindings and some looseness/detached pages, about 800 pages, 18 × 11 cm.

On offer is a publication that appeared anonymously but was written by the British newspaper editor, journalist, and author Robert Mudie (1777-1842):
[Robert Mudie] – The British Naturalist; or, Sketches of the More Interesting Productions of Britain and the Surrounding Sea, in the Scenes Which They Inhabit; and with Relation to the General Economy of Nature, and the Wisdom and Power of its Author – 2 volumes– London: Whittaker, Treacher, and Co., 1830 – xvi+380 and xii+383 pp. - cloth
The publication contains woodcuts by William Henry Brooke (1772-1860) and George Wilmot Bonner (1796-1836) after drawings by Harry Willson.
Condition: fair, the contemporary bindings have traces of use. The binding of vol. 1 is loosening, the first few pages are detached.
