In the Umbria region, cradle of the prerenaissance era, important for those first realistic sparkles that sprang from nature and from those empirical forms of spatial representation, lives Carlo Mirabasso. A humble yet reflective artist who, intelligently, pairs a yet sometimes geometric and rhythmic way of painting with the primordial expressiveness of volumes of the medieval world, perhaps an embryo of all modern art to follow. A "delicate harmony" that in his works on panel, like the thirteenth-century altarpieces, between studies of pre-Cubist matrix and vertical landscapes, completes itself in his painting techniques, almost marble-like; charged with subtle material symbolism with a mural meaning in which the fresco technique resurfaces, and in that tranquility of places dear to De Chirico, where space and time stop in the frame image, Mirabasso returns to the surface sensations of metaphysical memory.

BIOGRAPHY
Carlo Mirabasso was born in Tivoli in 1959. In 1979 he graduated from the Liceo Artistico Ripetta in Rome. In the 1980s and 1990s, alongside painting, he worked in graphic design and illustration, collaborating with numerous advertising agencies and publishing houses. In the early 1990s he began painting his first metaphysical compositions, perfecting a personal technique on panel that would become fundamental to his research, outlining a path that would establish him as a professional artist. Since 1996 he has abandoned advertising graphics to devote himself exclusively to painting. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, exhibiting his works in Rome, Milan, Florence, Bari, Teramo, Potenza, Padua, Auckland (New Zealand), Marbella (Spain), Taipei (Taiwan). He lives and works in Bastia Umbra, Perugia.

TECHNIQUE AND UNIQUENESS OF THE WORK
Every painting by Carlo Mirabasso, a professional artist who has dedicated himself exclusively to painting since the 1990s, is created entirely by hand, excluding the use of prints, reproductions, or other photomechanical techniques. The artist starts from a white, textural support (predominantly panel or canvas) prepared by him, then drafts the composition with pencil, allowing the work to evolve naturally. Subsequently, through skilled brushwork, Mirabasso creates textures, glazes, and depths typical of his metaphysical painting, using ultra-fine acrylic and oil paints. Once finished, the work is protected with a high-quality transparent varnish, which, besides defending it from external agents, gives the painting luminosity and brilliance. Each work is a unique and unrepeatable piece.
