Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the specialty of artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he first encounters disciplines such as carving, drawing, or modeling, and, most importantly, working in the workshop.
Later he enrolled in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studies what will later become his main discipline: sculpture. It is in this school that he already works with materials that will be fundamental in his work, such as steel or clay. Concurrently, Porto continues his personal development and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes, leaning toward the use of bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training phase, he decides to install his workshop on the banks of the Sarela River, very close to the place where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each piece and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals for communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the usual pattern of his works, endowing the entire body of his work with complexity and depth, with themes that touch both the social sphere and his personal experiences.
