Carlo Frittelli’s oil on canvas work Composizione Astratto-Costruttivista, 1974, in original edition, measuring 70 × 90 cm and hand-signed, sold with its original frame, Italy.
Description from the seller
Carlo Frittelli (1935-2026), Abstract-Constructivist Composition, 1974; oil on canvas.
Rare oil on canvas painting from 1974 by Carlo Frittelli, a celebrated figure in the Florentine art scene, known as a great collector, gallerist (founder of Centro d’arte Spaziotempo and the Frittelli Arte Contemporanea gallery) and, in his early youth, a refined experimental painter.
The painting is signed and dated (1974) in the bottom right.
On the back there is an autograph dedication; the artist's signature and the date.
The work, measuring 50 x 70 cm, fully sits within the currents of Abstract Constructivism and Florentine Classical Abstraction. From a stylistic and formal point of view, the painting is very close to the geometric and chromatic research of Vinicio Berti, a master of the avant-garde with whom Frittelli shared a deep cultural and professional bond, curating historically his archive and exhibitions.
The painting is distinguished by a strict geometric framework, clear color fields, and strong structural dynamism, elements typical of the great abstract season of Italian postwar late twentieth century.
The work is sold with its original frame (70 x 90 cm), which should be considered a courtesy from the seller.
Very good state of conservation.
Tracked national and international shipping with courier.
