Angelo Scardino - L’identità sospesa

A figure that reveals itself, a body opening to space: suspended identity engages in dialogue with physical presence and the image of oneself.
In this sculpture by Angelo Scardino, the gesture of the female figure with the smartphone encounters a surprising alternation of solids and voids.
The light, glossy surface contrasts with the perforated parts in bronze tones, delimited by thin dark profiles.
The openings become the protagonists of the composition: they let the gaze pass through the body and reveal different details from every angle.
Light, reflections, and the surrounding space thus participate in the perception of the work.
The title suggests a reflection on contemporary identity, suspended between what we are and what we choose to show.
The smartphone, an immediately recognizable element of our time, transforms a daily gesture into a sculptural image to observe and interpret.
Made in PLA and resin, the work unites an elegant silhouette with a visually incisive structure.
Displayed on a pedestal or in a minimalist setting, it offers a distinctive focal point for a private collection or a contemporary space.
