Description from the seller
Fernand BRENAS (1913-2013) - Post-Impressionist Oc Landscape with Provençal Mas
Luminous and warm oil on canvas depicting a southern countryside scene. The work is signed "Brenas" at the bottom right, emblematic signature of the Hérault-born painter Fernand Brenas (1913-2013), nicknamed “the painter with the red beret.”
The artist demonstrates superb relief work thanks to a generous application of knife painting (impasto), offering beautiful variations of light and texture across the entire canvas.
The piece is sold ready to be displayed in its original solid wood frame, adding notable depth. An ideal piece for collectors of Mediterranean regionalist art.
