Description from the seller
Antique Table Lamp – Antwerp, circa 1800–1830
Beautiful antique table lamp with a characterful, richly decorated wooden base, featuring graceful floral woodcarving and a classic square base. The lamp is fitted with an elegant gold-colored fabric lampshade with decorative borders and long fringes.
The design and materials suit a decorative interior from the early 20th century. The wooden base shows clear signs of aging and use, in keeping with the object's age.
Particularly notable is the original historical label on the underside. It refers to an Antwerp antique dealer/restorer, connected with the historic house Anthonissen / J. Zeberg, at the Marché au Lait (Milk Market) 37–39 in Antwerp. J. Zeberg is listed in historical Antwerp address books as an antique dealer and trader in antique furniture and art.
Based on the design and construction, the lamp is provisionally dated around 1800–1830, with the possibility that certain components are older. The exact production date cannot be determined with certainty.
