A set of four wall-hanging hooks in cast aluminum, dating to the Art Deco period of the 1930s.
Description from the seller
Four wall-mounted coat hooks, Italian design in cast aluminum, Art Deco / Rationalism period (1930s).
Splendid and rare set consisting of four Italian-made coat hooks dating from the 1930s, the golden era of industrial design and the Rationalist architecture of the Fascist era.
These pieces of excellent metallurgical craftsmanship fully express the aesthetic canons of the era: the circular front plate features a strict geometric perforated pattern, a clear reference to the Art Deco stylistic language and to the clean architectural geometries of the great public buildings, stations, and Italian institutional palaces of that decade.
From a construction standpoint, the hooks are made of solid aluminum die casting with a distinctive "turret" spacer structure and an exposed mounting bracket. This technical solution, designed to ensure maximum robustness and functionality, testifies to the great care devoted to the production of small hardware and interior furnishings for representative interiors, public offices, and transatlantic liners of the era.
In generally good condition, with the usual signs of time and age, characterized by a splendid and authentic natural patina on the metal.
A set of great historical and collecting appeal, perfect for enriching a characterful entrance, an period study, or an interior project that seeks authentic details of historic Italian design.
Please closely view the photographic gallery, which is an integral part of the description, to avoid any misunderstandings.
Careful packaging and tracked shipping.
