Katsuhiko Hibino (born 1958 in Gifu, Japan) is a renowned Japanese contemporary artist, designer, and academic, widely famous since the 1980s for his innovative works of art crafted from cardboard.
Throughout his career, Hibino has expanded his artistic practice into interdisciplinary projects spanning public art, theater set design, and the direction of art festivals. He is currently a key figure in Japan’s artistic institutions, serving as president of Tokyo University of the Arts, director of the Gifu Museum of Fine Arts, and director of the Kumamoto Contemporary Art Museum.
